Quest International University Perak (QIU) firmly believes in encouraging students and academics to participate in local and international educational competitions as this is where they can truly shine and equip themselves with unique experiences.
This was proven when students pursuing the Master of Science (Environmental Technology) programme, Turkeswari Uverajan and Nur Hanis Zulkernain together with their advisor, Dr. Paran Gani bagged the 2nd runner-up award at the Green Technovation Challenge 2019 which was held at KDU University College Utropolis, Glemarie Campus recently.
Organised by the School of Engineering of KDU University College, the competition saw 14 teams participating from various higher institutions such as Xiamen University Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, KDU, TAR University College and others.
It was a remarkable achievement as QIU was up against some well-funded government universities. The participants were required to present their ideas and innovations in line with the theme of the competition which was to create green innovations for combatting the marine pollution.
The QIU team presented about their project which is Eco-Friendly Plastic Bricks with Agro Waste and impressed the panel of judges.
The competition was won by the team from Xiamen University Malaysia while the team from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia grabbed first runner-up position.
