Together, the two grants reflect the breadth of research taking place across QIU, with academics tackling questions that extend from clinical practice and healthcare to social development and community empowerment.
Designed to reflect the evolving demands of the accounting profession, the competition tested participants’ ability to leverage emerging technologies while upholding sound auditing principles.
Beyond the excitement on the court, the programme served as an important hands-on learning platform for QIU students, particularly those pursuing Special Needs Education.
The visit brought together students from the Operations Management and International Business courses, offering them a rare opportunity to witness how theoretical business concepts are applied in a real-world industrial setting.
Held in conjunction with World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, the competition carried the theme “Digital Lifelines: Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World” and attracted participation from university students throughout Malaysia.
In line with QIU’s commitment to producing research that benefits society in meaningful and practical ways, the projects presented by the university’s academics and students explored important contemporary issues such as coastal restoration, rare earth element detection, hospitality legal frameworks, and AI-driven smart agriculture for food security.
Lee, delivered an exceptional performance in the March 2026 examination, earning an outstanding 99 marks—a result that secured her the top position worldwide, as well as in Malaysia.
The event combined friendly competition with community spirit, and it doubled as the moment the two organisations took a big step toward deeper collaboration, as an MoU was signed to formalise their partnership and set out a shared agenda for inclusive education and research.
A central theme of the talk was the human tendency to substitute judgement with numerical scores. Mr Roni highlighted that while data and AI dramatically improve speed and scale, they can promote overreliance on quantitative results at the expense of intuition and qualitative assessment.
The QIU team’s achievements stood out among strong competition from institutions such as Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perlis, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Universiti Teknologi Sarawak, and their Indonesian counterparts.
