At QIU, we believe that quality education should be available to everyone. Our goal is to help people from all levels of society reach their full potential.

We understand that different students will have different financial situations, so we work with a variety of education loan and scholarship providers to ensure that our students get the very best options to fulfil their education financial needs. Students can apply to the following financial aid providers.

INTERNAL SCHOLARSHIPS & COVERAGE

QIU Foundation 100% Tuition Coverage

 

The requirements for the QIU Foundation’s 100% Tuition Coverage are as stated below:-

  • The 100% coverage is applicable to the tuition fees for the Foundation in Arts, Foundation in Science, Foundation in Business and ACCA Foundation in Accountancy programmes.
  • Applicants must ensure the degree programme of choice is available at QIU.
  • Applicants who aspire to continue their studies at QIU after completing their Foundation programme will have the opportunity to access more exclusive QIU degree scholarships.
  • All other costs/payments, such as basic fees, hostel fees, and transportation, must be paid by the student.
QIU Undergraduate Scholarship

 

The minimum requirements for the QIU Degree Scholarship are as stated below:

2. Applicants from Education Sector
Programme: Master of Education or Master of Arts in the Teaching of English as a Second Language

A 10% group tuition fee waiver is awarded for applicants from the education sector i.e. school teachers, college or university lecturers (except administrative staff). This waiver is ONLY given to group applicants from the same institution if the application received is 3 and above. Each applicant in the group will receive a 10% tuition fee waiver.

EXTERNAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Madam Pathmavathi Scholarship and Mr Kumarakulasingam Scholarship
The minimum requirements for the Madam Pathmavathi Scholarship and Mr Kumarakulasingam Scholarship are as stated below:-

  • The Madam Pathmavathi Scholarship is applicable to the tuition fees for the Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Hons) and Bachelor of Special Needs Education (Hons) programmes.
  • The Mr Kumarakulasingam Scholarship is applicable to the tuition fees for the Bachelor of Mass Communication (Hons) Journalism, Bachelor of Mass Communication (Hons) Advertising and Bachelor of Corporate Communication (Hons) programmes.
  • The applicants must have obtained a distinction in English (at SPM / O-Levels examination)
  • All other costs/payment such as basic fees, hostel fees and transportation must be paid by the student.
  • The student has to attend an interview to be eligible for the scholarship.

OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS AND LOANS

PTPTN

PTPTN is the abbreviation of Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional. This is an agency under the Ministry of Education that gives study loans to students who are pursuing tertiary education in Malaysia. The loans assist students from public and private higher education institutions alike.

Plenitude Scholarship

  • Applicants must be Malaysian citizens;
  • Eligible students who are pursuing full-time degree courses (undergraduates) at any local university or reputable higher learning institution in Malaysia;
  • Must be enrolled in a related field of study with a minimum CGPA of 3.3000 in Foundation / Diploma / STPM or equivalent;
  • Total combined income of parents / guardians should not exceed RM10,000 per month;
  • Non-recipient of any other financial assistance;
  • Energetic high achiever who is committed to self-development, driven to excel, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and holds leadership positions in school or university clubs.

MiED
MiED is the abbreviation of Maju Institute of Educational Development. MiED offers study loans to needy students who are continuing and pursuing their tertiary education in any recognised institution. The MiED study loan will only cover part of tuition fees which will be paid directly to the institutions. The loan approved is only for the current year of application.
PERKESO
It is open to all PERKESO members and the education loans are open to PERKESO contributors who are qualified for study loans. PERKESO offers educational loans to children of members who are receiving monthly invalid pensions.
KOJADI

KOJADI’s (Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad) objective is to provide an effective educational loan facility for needy students to pursue higher education. The applicant must be a member of KOJADI. The loan amount is subject to the discretion of the Board.

Perak Higher Educational Loans are offered to qualified Perak-born students who are seeking financial assistance to pursue their higher education.

Perak State Government Higher Education Loan

Pinjaman Pendidikan Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang

Penang State Higher Educational Loan are offered to qualified Penang-born students who are seeking financial assistance to pursue their higher education.

Yayasan Kemajuan Islam Nasional (YAKIN)

The YAKIN Educational Fund was established to  give financial assistance without interest to families with a household income of RM 3,000 or less. The loan is available for KIMMA members only.

Pinjaman Pendidikan Kerajaan Negeri Selangor

Selangor State Educational Loans are offered to qualified Selangor-born students who are seeking financial assistance to pursue their higher education.

Selangor State Government Education Loan

ANGKASA

Pinjaman Pendidikan Yayasan ANGKASA is for all cooperative members. This interest-free loan is available for the children of members who are not more than 25 years of age at the time of application. The member should not be more than 40 years of age at the time of application.

Koperasi Guru-Guru Sekolah Malaysia Berhad

Koperasi Guru-Guru Sekolah Malaysia Berhad is for all cooperative members. The member must be an active member at the time they make a loan application.

National Land Finance Co Operative Society Ltd. (NLFCS)

All children of members can apply for an education loan for higher studies. Interest-free education loans within approved limits are being offered.

Kumpulan Yayasan Sabah

The Sabah Foundation is operationally referred to as Yayasan Sabah Group. The foundation provides education and educational facilities for all Malaysians in Sabah.

KWSP (The Employee Provident Fund)

This withdrawal allows you to utilise your savings in Account 2 to finance your education or your children’s education (including step-children and legally adopted children) at an Institution of Higher Learning.

Skim MARA Bank

Open to all Malaysian Bumiputeras for postgraduate programmes. It is a collaboration between MARA and Bank Rakyat.
