Students of the Human Resources subject recently organised a Career Day at the University which saw the participation of 14 reputable companies from Perak. This was part of the student’s project paper which was very successfully carried out.
The event was opened by Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Nicholas Goh who commended the students and lecturer, Mr. Sivarajah who guided the students to pull off a successful and beneficial project.
Companies who participated in this event were Finisar (M) Sdn Bhd, Vale (M) Minerals Sdn Bhd, QI Group of Companies, Bank Islam (M) Berhad, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, Toyo Plastic (M) Sdn Bhd, Sunway Lost World of Tambun, Movie Animation Park Studio, KPMG, Malay Mail Sdn Bhd, Impiana Hotel Ipoh, CIMB Bank Berhad, Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association and Top Glove Corporation Bhd.
The event gave QIUP students a chance explore the opportunities available at the various industries and at the same time understanding what is required to attain their desirable job. There were also on-site interviews conducted for students who will be graduating soon.
Part of the programme also saw a career talk later in the afternoon by Mr. Jeren Raj from Vale Minerals which proved very beneficial for the students.
Overall, it was a very well organised event and once again we congratulate the organising committee, the lecturers and the Faculty of Business, Management and Social Sciences.
