QIU Dean of Pharmacy Wins Prestigious MPS Outstanding Pharmacist Award 2025

Quest International University (QIU) is proud to announce that Professor Datuk Dr. Allan Mathews, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, has been named the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) Outstanding Pharmacist 2025 during the recent National Pharmacists Convention.

This prestigious honour recognises Prof. Datuk Dr. Allan’s exceptional contributions to the pharmacy profession over a career spanning more than four decades. During this time, he has made a lasting impact across multiple sectors — including government, corporate, academia, and community pharmacy.

A JPA scholar and a distinguished alumnus of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Prof. Datuk Dr. Allan holds postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Pharmacy, Operations Management, Sales Management, and Marketing. His broad expertise has positioned him as a prominent figure in Malaysia’s pharmaceutical landscape.

Throughout his career, he has held senior roles in pharmacy management, pharmaceutical production, and clinical services within the public sector. His experience also extends into the corporate world, where he held key leadership positions in pharmaceutical operations. He also served as a consultant to a pharmaceutical firm in Brunei for over a decade.

Under his leadership, QIU’s Pharmacy Programme was designed with a unique practice-integrated approach and has received excellent accreditation ratings. He continues to guide postgraduate students, drive curriculum innovation, and publish research actively.

Internationally, Prof. Datuk Dr. Allan’s faculty was recognised as a centre of excellence in pharmaceutical education by FIP-UNESCO. He also contributed as part of a World Health Organization (WHO) expert panel on Healthcare Reform in Malaysia. In addition to his academic and professional achievements, he is a regular contributor to national media on issues in pharmacy practice and a respected speaker on global platforms.

Datuk Dr Allan has served two terms as President of the Sabah Pharmaceutical Society and as Past-President of the Rotary Club of Likas Bay. He is a member of the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia (2006–2009, 2023–2026) and the Council of Pharmacy Deans, and has been conferred with state honours — BSK and PGDK.

This award is a testament to his lifelong commitment to advancing the pharmacy profession in Malaysia and beyond. QIU congratulates Prof. Datuk Dr. Allan on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates his enduring legacy of leadership, innovation, and service.
