QIU Partners with KMCH College of Pharmacy to Promote Holistic Learning

Our Faculty of Pharmacy (FoP) has a proud tradition of forging partnerships across the region that advance disciplinary knowledge, research, and teaching and learning methodologies. The faculty today extended this track record of excellence by inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the esteemed KMCH College of Pharmacy (India) in a signing ceremony at Quest International University’s (QIU) Ipoh campus.

The special guests at this ceremony were an impressive cohort of student delegates from KMCH – who were scheduled to give oral presentations after the event. Also gracing the occasion were Vice-Chancellor Professor Zita Mohd Fahmi and Registrar Mr Muhammad MG Omar from QIU, while KMCH College was represented by Principal Dr A. Rajasekaran and Professor Dr Shalini Sivadasan, the head of clinical pharmacy. Audience members also included senior academic staff from both institutes.

In their opening speeches, QIU Chief Operations Officer Mr Nicholas Goh and Dr A. Rajasekaran spoke of the value of partnerships and their desire to build a robust academic alliance in pharmacy that reinforces the world-class education offered at both institutes and, furthermore, produces actionable research and innovates industry techniques.

The wide-ranging scope of the MoU includes exploring mobility programmes for staff and students – i.e. internships and study tours for students, guest and co-lecturing opportunities for academics; planning collaborative research projects, conferences, seminars, and workshops; facilitating the exchange of information in learning, teaching, and research requirements; and designing bilateral programmes of mutual benefit, among other promising areas of cooperation.

Welcome, KMCH College of Pharmacy! We at QIU are delighted to have you join our international network of partners, and we harbour no doubt that your insights and experience will help us set a higher standard of pharmacy education in Asia and beyond.
