IME Group of Companies Joins Faculty of Computing and Engineering’s Industry Network

The fields of computing, engineering, and information technology are defined by how rapidly they innovate. Within less than 24 hours, a technological innovation can transform entire industries.

It’s never been more important to stay ahead of the curve, and in that spirit, QIU today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with our newest industry partner: the IME Group of Companies.

IME specialises in providing Engineering, Industry 4.0, and IT solutions. They offer a wide range of services, including computer software solutions for engineering design and manufacturing, as well as training and consultancy services. Their clients include manufacturing industries, engineering sectors, and higher education institutes in Malaysia.

On hand to sign the agreement were Chief Executive Officer of Global Integrated Training Associates Sdn Bhd Nicholas Goh and IME Executive Vice President Teoh Jia Yuan. Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Engineering Prof Bakri Madon and IME Head of Sales Sew Chang Wei were present as witnesses.

The partnership between these two entities focuses primarily on electric vehicle (EV) technology, EV charging infrastructure, automation and robotics, semiconductor chip design and fabrication, as well as other related fields within the computing, electrical/electronic and mechanical engineering realms.

We will also be looking into using IME’s expertise in facilitating academic programmes and professional training development, aiming to cultivate graduates who are conversant and IR 4.0-ready.

Other areas include student/staff development activities such as a mobility programme for students of QIU including internships, study visits, and industrial visits, among other areas of cooperation which may be mutually agreed upon by both QIU and IME.

Their invaluable industry insights will ensure that our students are kept abreast of the latest innovations in the real-world—ensuring that they can hit the ground running when they enter the workforce.

To our latest partners, welcome to the QIU family!
