QIU MTE Winning Streak Continues with 13 More Awards

QIU’s budding inventors have outdone themselves again, by bringing home a terrific 13 awards at the latest edition of the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE)!

Once again, all 10 entries from our academics and students won accolades, maintaining our 100 per cent record for the seventh straight competition.

All told, our team won three gold awards, four silvers, three bronzes, and three special awards. This tally brings our grand total to 81 awards in only four years of taking part!

This time around, we competed in the MTE 2023 Advanced Healthcare and Life Sciences International Innovation Awards & Expo, which showcased the power of virtual collaboration in advancing the frontiers of healthcare and life sciences.

As always, our team had to compete against a stellar field, featuring 89 entries from 10 countries! This included public and private universities like Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and Multimedia University—as well as medical and research centres from Taiwan and the Netherlands.

The award ceremony was attended by dignitaries like YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin,
Minister of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and YB Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni,
Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia (MOH).

At QIU, research projects are formulated with the overarching goal of benefitting humanity and the world around us. Our sterling projects included topics like treating urolithiasis, oral thrush, vaginal candidiasis, empowering people with visual impairments, and so much more.
