Exciting new possibilities are set to open up for QIU students, after the University inked a groundbreaking partnership with data analytics company MyFinB yesterday.
The tie-up will give our computing students invaluable opportunities to pick up more hands-on skills and knowledge through some fascinating initiatives.
Firstly, MyFinB and QIU will join forces to inculcate problem-based learning approaches into the study of AI learning, with the aim of solving industry pain points in govtech, mediatech, fintech, healthtech, legaltech and edutech.
MyFinB’s modules and case studies will be embedded in our degree and diploma programmes, while AI and analytics-related short courses and public workshops will also be jointly accredited and certified,
At the same time, both parties agreed to establish Digital AI Lab (DIAL) facilities at QIU premises to facilitate knowledge transfer and IP creation in the aforementioned six tech segments.
This will result in industrial, hands-on exposure for QIU students and lecturers through strategic involvement in MFB DIAL projects.
MyFinB and QIU will also develop a set of competencies for QIU teaching staff and students in AI, Natural Language Generation / Understanding (NLGU), Cognitive Analytics and Machine Learning.
Present to sign the MoU was Chief Operating Officer Mr Nicholas Goh and MyFinB President/Chief Executive Officer Mr M Nazri.
The QIU delegation also included Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Prof Dr Vilasini Pillai and a number of our FST lecturers.
