QIU Sweeps 12 Awards at 2022 MTE; Breaks 50-Award Mark in 3 Years

Another year, another incredible performance for QIU at the Malaysia Technology Expo!

This time, our academics and students brought home a terrific 12 awards at the 2022 edition—including three gold awards, six silvers, two bronzes, and one Special Foreign Award from the Chinese Innovation and Invention Society (CIIS) Taiwan.

With this latest haul, QIU has won 59 awards in three years of joining the MTE, going back to 2019.

All 11 of our participants won awards, which continues our 100 per cent award-winning record for our fourth MTE in a row.  All 12 participants nabbed awards in November 2021, and we repeated the same feat in April 2021, and February 2020

The battle was waged by lecturers and students from the Faculty of Computing and Engineering (FCE), the Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, who competed against more than 450 entries from 21 countries.

The competition included public and private universities, research institutes, as well as government and corporate organisations from Malaysia, Australia, China, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Iran, Poland, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom.

Here is the full list of our award winners:

Once again, our students’ and academics’ ability to push the envelope of innovation has put the university in the national and regional spotlight.

In the face of the disruptions caused by the global pandemic, our champions’ commitment to their creations shone through, and they have made us proud once again. Congratulations once again to all of you and continue innovating!
