Fifty-three of QIU’s sterling medical students officially become doctors over the weekend, after they passed their final year MBBS examination which was held at Hospital Taiping, Perak, Malaysia.
In a glowing endorsement of our Faculty of Medicine, all 53 students who took the exam passed—achieving a 100 per cent passing rate for the batch.
Six of them scored a distinction in the exam, which is known as the Clinical Professional Examination (CPE). They were evaluated by examiners from other medical universities who provided some excellent feedback.
“The students are knowledgeable and well-trained. They were well-behaved, professional in dealing with the patients during the examination and showed a good attitude to the patients and examiners,” said one examiner.
The examiners also congratulated QIU for successfully organising the examination during such challenging times.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dato’ Dr Sellaiah S. Pillay said it was a proud moment for the faculty.
“The external examiners were impressed with the quality of our students, and that is a glowing endorsement of how effective our medical education is at QIU,” he said.
“Congratulations to all of these promising young medical professionals, and a special thanks to the external examiners from other universities, the staff of Hospital Taiping, and the Faculty of Medicine (FOM) staff.”
