At 15, Noor Aimi Mohd Yusoff was just a regular teenager with an interest in the health benefits of bird’s nest products.
Today, the QIU Business Administration graduate is one of the most promising young beauty product entrepreneurs in the country—and the winner of a Superwoman award!
In a glamourous virtual show last weekend, Noor Aimi and her business partner Norelissa Idayu were among 47 distinguished award recipients at the 2020 Nona Superwoman Awards.
The Nona Superwoman awards recognise the excellence and contributions of women across a variety of fields.
Multi-national beauty product company Sahi Elements—which was founded by Noor Aimi and Norelissa—took home the award in the “Nona Excellence Bird’s Nest Brand Award” category.
In doing so, they joined an elite group of Superwoman award winners on the night, including Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza Dr Nur Amalina Che Bakri and Dr Soo Wincci, among others.
Noor Aimi’s company, which was established in 2016 while she was still studying, is the first company to create a beauty product featuring bird’s nest extract in tablet form. The extract helps make the users’ skin softer, smoother and healthier.
Easily consumed, it also includes other healthy food components in the tablets, including raisins, olives, dates, fruits, and honey which are excellent for the skin.
“This is a true honour for me. It’s one of those moments where I feel like all my hard work and long hours paid off,” she said.
“But it was a team effort because I would be nowhere without my business partner, my Sahi teams, my wonderful family and friends, as well as everyone who guided me at QIU.”
“I started from scratch. All I had was a dream and a passion. To my fellow QIU family, I’m here to tell you that you can achieve your goals as well. Dream big!”
