One of the noblest things you can do to help your fellow man is to donate blood. According to the American Red Cross, a single donation can potentially save up to three lives.
QIU’s Medical Society (QMS) is definitely no stranger to helping the community, and they organised a blood donation drive at the Student Centre in collaboration with Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun.
A total of 60 donors came out to donate blood, with an estimated 35 litres collected.
QMS President Deva Rubiin Denamany said the society organised the event to help the hospital and raise awareness about the importance of giving blood.
“The beginning of the year is a good time to donate blood. You never know who may need it – perhaps it could be someone who just got out of surgery or suffering blood loss,” added the MBBS student.
“Your deed can make a difference and transform someone’s life. We know hospitals will welcome these donations as well.”
For their noble deeds, the students were also given 4 CCA hours and a certificate.
