QIUP community celebrates Dragon Boat Festival

In conjunction with the recent Dragon Boat festival, the Chinese Students Society organised a celebration to commemorate this event. Dressed in traditional Chinese wear, society students welcome all staff and students who attended the event.

Being in a multicultural society, this event was apt as it showcased what Malaysia has to offer where different races were educated on the Dragon Boat festival including our community of International students from 34 countries.

The highlight of the day was when there was a demonstration on how to make the  ‘zongzi’ – glutinous rice wrapped in leaf.  The audience were then invited to make their own ‘zongzi’ and taste the various types available.

Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Nicholas Goh officiated the event by thanking and congratulating the Chinese students society for organizing the event in the true spirit of making Malaysia a great place. It was truly memorable to see everyone having a good time enjoying themselves while being educated about the various cultures in Malaysia.
