QIU STEM Challenge 2025 Fuels Student Passion for Problem-Solving

Quest International University (QIU) continued to energise student interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with the recently concluded QIU STEM Challenge 2025.

This year’s challenge, organised by our Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences and Faculty of Computing and Engineering, drew contestants from over 100 secondary schools across Perak, Penang, Kedah, and Perlis. Bright Form 4 and Form 5 students enthusiastically competed in the preliminary round to showcase their STEM knowledge and skills.

Sixteen outstanding teams made it to the electrifying grand finale held at QIU’s campus, where they competed for the top prize in the presence of our guest of honour, En. Roslah Bin SariyonKetua Penolong Pengarah Kanan, Unit Sains dan Matematik, Sektor Pembelajaran, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Perak – who also officiated the event.

Speaking at the occasion, En. Roslah lauded QIU’s efforts in promoting STEM education among secondary school students, highlighting our contribution to empowering young talent and building the foundation for lifelong learning.

The hard-fought finale concluded with SMJK Sam Tet emerging as champion, with SMK Ayer Tawar, SMK Methodist (ACS) Sitiawan, and SMK Methodist (ACS) Ipoh claiming first, second, and third runner-up positions, respectively.

All finalists received cash prizes and certificates to recognise their achievements in the competition and their commitment to STEM excellence.

Since its inception, the QIU STEM Challenge has strived to inspire curiosity, spark innovation, and cultivate skills essential for the future.

Throughout the competition, we encouraged students to think critically, work collaboratively, and tackle complex STEM questions – nurturing traits that will serve them well far beyond the classroom.

Our heartiest congratulations to all the participants, educators, and supporters who made this event a resounding success. Thanks to you, the future of STEM shines ever brighter in Malaysia and around the world!
