Learning is a lifelong pursuit, but one of the major immediate goals of education is to pave the way for students to find their dream career.
Once again, we brought together the realms of industry and academia for the annual Industry Day, drawing the participation of companies from a diverse range of industries. The event was designed to provide students with insights into the professional world, equipping them with knowledge and opportunities to enhance their future career prospects.
The Career Day featured three main components: career talks, industry exhibition booths, and forums. Students had the opportunity to attend talks by leading professionals who shared their expertise on career paths, industry trends, and essential skills required to succeed in the job market. These sessions provided valuable guidance for students looking to navigate their career choices.
At the industry exhibition booths, companies from various sectors showcased their operations, offering insights into current job opportunities, internships, and long-term career pathways. Students were able to network with recruiters, gaining direct access to industry representatives to discuss potential employment opportunities.
In addition to these activities, forums were held to encourage open dialogue between students and industry leaders. Panel discussions addressed topics such as the future of work, technological advancements, and how students can prepare for the rapidly changing demands of the workforce.

One of the highlights of the event was the signing of four Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the university and prominent industry partners—including Indonesian university Universitas Islam Nusantara, fintech provider P10 Solutions, real estate company Ascott Kuala Lumpur and fintech alliance LedgerBrains (Leger Brains).
These MOUs signify a strengthened collaboration between the university and industry, with the aim of fostering internship programmes, research collaborations, and job placements for students.
The MoU between QIU and Universitas Islam Nusantara establishes a collaborative partnership focused on research and publications, particularly in innovation to tackle global and local challenges in education and social sciences, aimed at boosting the academic and professional standing of both institutions.

The collaboration with P10 Solutions seeks to provide QIU students with practical 21st-century tech skills, improve the curriculum, and ensure graduates are well-prepared and successful in the job market. Meanwhile, QIU’s partnership with LedgerBrains will benefit students by establishing an Accounting Technology Automation Lab, developing digital transformation programs, and providing mentorship for tech start-up incubation designed to enhance practical and entrepreneurial skills.
The QIU and Ascott collaboration involves co-developing hospitality courses, sharing facilities, managing curriculum and candidate selection, and supporting internships and mobility programs, along with joint research and co-organizing academic events.
With a massive collection of companies in attendance and the successful signing of MOUs, QIU’s Industry Day opened doors for students and showcased the university’s commitment to enhancing employability and building strong industry partnerships.
