Education is all about finding new ways to connect with your students. And we’re proud to tell you that our Early Childhood Education academics are practising what they preach—and teach!
In fact, a new education technique helped our Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Honours) Programme Coordinator Ms Rajarajeswary Gnanasagaran win a Silver Prize at the 6th International Creativity & Innovation Exhibition & Language Teaching Seminar (CAIELTS).
Ms Rajarajeswary’s presentation on “Storytelling for Preschoolers using Flannel Boards” placed her in the silver prize category. She was among a diverse field of 50 participants from educational institutions across the nation.
Organised by the Labuan Research, Innovation and Creative Society (LARIS), the seminar is a platform for educators to share their expertise and experience on creativity, innovation and language teaching in Malaysia.
Ms Rajarajeswary said she was thrilled to have received the prize, expressing her gratitude to her family, friends, and the University.
Now, she has already started teaching the flannel board technique to her students.
“Storytelling for preschoolers using the flannel board provides children with a window to new worlds,” she explained.
“Basically, it allows them to learn new ideas and information. And without realising it, they are learning valuable life lessons by hearing an engaging, exciting story. Happily, it’s something I have already introduced to our Early Childhood Education students.”
Well, we certainly loved hearing this story Ms Rajarajeswary. Congratulations once again!
