QIUP inks unique MOU with Regent-Ghana

Quest International University Perak (QIUP) today inked a partnership MOU with Regent University College of Science and Technology, Ghana at a ceremony held at QIUP campus in Ipoh.

Signing on behalf of QIUP was Mr. Nicholas Goh, Chief Operating Officer while Professor Nicholas Nsowah-Nuamah, President of University College of Science and Technology (Ghana) signed on behalf of Regent-Ghana.

Mr. Nicholas Goh stressed that this was a unique MOU as it goes above and beyond just exchange of educational expertise.

“I was in Ghana a few months ago and saw many old gold mines which have been exhausted and left unattended and useless. I am keen to explore the possibilities of using our Biotechnology experts to clean up these pools and make them fit for rearing fish and hydroponic vegetable farming. In this way, we are able to provide a livelihood to the farmers and contribute to the economy of Ghana” said Mr. Nicholas Goh.

Professor Nicholas stressed that he is aligned with Mr Nicholas’s idea and this MOU partnership is indeed timely.

“It is not every day that you meet a person who thinks the same way you do and I was lucky to have met Mr. Nicholas Goh in my hometown. I also was thinking about ways to put these old gold mines to good use to help the poor farmers. Today is definitely a meeting of two minds which are aligned to help alleviate the sufferings of the poor farmers in Ghana” added Professor Nicholas Nuamah.

The MOU today will also see the exchange of students and teaching expertise between both the institutions.
