Iconic F&B Provider Sabah Tea Garden Joins QIU’s Industry Partner Network

QIU has expanded our certificate of competency programme industry partners, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sabah Tea Garden Sdn Bhd (STG).

Our new deal focuses on collaborative efforts in the realm of short courses and training programmes, specifically our Certificate of Competency within the hospitality and culinary sectors.

STG will join our current certificate of competency partners HTM Pharmacy and Doubletree by Hilton Damai Laut resort, offering conditional placement to graduates of these certificate programmes.

These certificates have been developed in close collaboration with QIU’s corporate partners. What sets them apart from the competition are their competency-based assessments: students undergo training until they achieve the level of fluency required to excel at their jobs.

The University will also be offering training to STG staff who are looking to upskill.

One of the state’s most iconic culinary names, STG is an established private provider of food and beverages, tea products and services. STG has been created with the goal of giving its customers the chance to experience delicious signature dishes and an array of unique tea-infused products and drinks.

In addition, STG is committed to efficiently train experienced and professional operation teams in order to conceive, create and maintain their products and services of genuine quality—which is where our partnership comes in.

This collaboration also encompasses various aspects, including the co-development of specialised courses, joint creation of curricula, delivery methods, and assessment techniques adhering to industry standards.

Additionally, it involves the mutual selection of appropriate candidates, collaborative review, and refinement of conducted courses.

This is yet another example of our commitment to collaborations with industry partners, creating more career opportunities for our students and the public alike. Exciting news, and we look forward to more tie-ups in the future. Welcome to the QIU family!
