SMK Jelapang Jaya Clinch Inaugural QIUP Touring Perak Board Game Contest 2018!

SMK Jelapang Jaya were crowned champions of the recently concluded QIUP Touring Perak Board Game Contest held at St. Michael’s Institution in Ipoh. This inaugural competition saw 32 secondary schools from Perak vying for honours in this “edu-tourism” competition’s organised by Tourism Perak Management Berhad with the support of the State Education Department.

As the “Anchor Sponsor” of this competition, QIUP awarded the top (3) three winning teams with scholarships worth RM60,000-00 which was presented by our guest-of-honour YB Dato’ Nolee Ashilin bt. Dato’ Mohammed Radzi, and Mr. Muhammad MG Omar, Registrar of QIUP.

Also present were Perak State Education Co-Curriculum Assistant Director, Dr. Adlan Mohamed Yusof, Tourism Perak Chief Executive Officer, Zuraida Md Taib, Managing Director of 6SenseTechnology, Rohaida Abd Kahar, the Sessions Court Judge of Kuala Kangsar, Rohaida Ishak as Chief Judge and Suara Perak’s Managing Director Azman Bakri.

Finalists of the QIUP Touring Perak Board Game Contest 2018 as follows;


CHAMPION: Form Five students representing SMK Jelapang Jaya; Muhammad Aqil Danish Razlan and Aida Zahirah Ismail.
One full scholarship for tuition fee only to pursue the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Hospitality and Tourism Management valued at RM37,000-00 (Thirty Seven Thousand Ringgit). The dynamic duo of SMK Jelapang Jaya also took home a cash prize of RM1,200, certificate of School Ambassador 2018 from Perak Tourism.



1st Runner Up: SMK Seri Manjung
One full scholarship for tuition fee only to pursue the Diploma in Hotel Management valued at RM17,000-00 (Seventeen Thousand Ringgit)


2nd Runner-Up: SMK Tambun
One full scholarship for tuition fee only to pursue the Foundation in Business or Foundation in Arts valued at RM6,000-00 (Six Thousand Ringgit)


3rd Runner-Up: Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK)

QIUP congratulates each of the 2018 winners and we hope that this challenge is the beginning of a long passion for promoting the culturally rich state of Perak, among the youths who participated.
