QIUP inks MoU with Copthorne Hotel Cameron Highlands

QIUP embarked on a strategic partnership with Copthorne Hotel under the Millennium Hotel and Resorts Group in Cameron Highlands to ensure our Hospitality and Tourism Management students have access to the best training opportunities available in hotels, resorts and other hospitality related business.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Patrick Tee, General Manager of Copthorne Hotel Cameron Highlands and Mr Nicholas Goh, COO of QIUP at the hotel recently.

At the ceremony, Mr Patrick Tee, who is also the industry advisor for QIUP commented that QIUP’s syllabus for the hospitality programme is one of the best he has seen.

“I have personally reviewed the syllabus and am of the opinion that QIUP’s syllabus is one of the best in Malaysia and South East Asia. Not only are all the necessary subjects covered, but it even covers Business Management as the hospitality industry student must be able to think like a businessman to ensure they are successful in the industry.

“At Copthorne, we have a specially prepared module for the students which covers placement of students at all key operational areas of the Hotel to ensure students get the best of their industrial training with us. As part of the Millennium Hotel and Resorts Group with over 250 hotels worldwide, our training programme is one the best that a student can undergo’, added Mr Tee.

QIUP Chief Operating Officer, Mr Nicholas Goh was very pleased to be tied up with such a reputable hotel.

“QIUP is not a degree mill and we want to ensure that our students are job-ready when they graduate. Today’s signing of the MoU with Copthorne Hotel is a testament to that. We are very choosy where we send our students for training and Copthorne Hotel definitely exceeds the standards we set for our students”, said Mr. Goh.

QIUP students pursuing the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Diploma in Hotel Management and Diploma in Tourism Managment will undergo a 6 months industrial training attachment as part of their curriculum.
