QIU Rotaract Club Holds Knowledge and Cultural Exchange with Contemporaries from India

We’re always extremely proud whenever our QIU family goes above and beyond to make an educational impact in the community – because as the saying goes, knowledge shared is knowledge squared.

The Rotaract Club of QIU did us proud on that front once again, as they collaborated with the Rotaract Club of Medicrew India to conduct a four-day knowledge-sharing webinar from Sept 10 to 13.

Titled “Project Kaleidoscope”, the webinar fell under the category of an international service project and was designed to help the participants learn about the medical practices and cultural values of both countries.

The webinar included introductions to the healthcare systems of Malaysia and India, an academic workshop on basic first aid and emergency medicine from our Indian friends, and a QIU-led webinar on basic health misconceptions.

On the cultural front, both teams also held webinars on the various places of interests, traditions, dishes, and performances in their countries.

At the end of the event, both sides came away with strengthened bonds between local and international rotaractors, better team work among the respective committees, and better knowledge of both medical practices and different cultures.

Present at the event was Rotarian Advisor from the Rotary Club of Ipoh Mr Edwin Seibel Nathan and members of the Student Affairs Division.

Well done to the QIU Rotaract Club for representing our University in such a positive way, and for forming new bonds of friendship that transcend international boundaries. We’re so proud of you!
