QIU has reached a significant milestone in postgraduate education, now holding the largest cohort of internationally recognised research supervisors in Malaysia under the UK Council for Graduate Education (UKCGE) Research Supervision Recognition Programme.
This achievement follows the latest round of recognitions, where eight QIU academic staff were awarded distinctions under the prestigious UKCGE framework—an internationally respected benchmark for excellence in postgraduate research supervision.
The UKCGE recognition scheme honours supervisors who demonstrate effective, reflective, and student-centred approaches in guiding postgraduate researchers through the complexities of research design, execution, and thesis development.

This milestone highlights QIU’s ongoing commitment to upholding international standards in postgraduate education. By aligning its supervisory practices with globally recognised frameworks, the university continues to strengthen its research ecosystem and enhance the quality of its postgraduate programmes.
As the demand for high-quality research training grows, QIU’s leadership in cultivating skilled and recognised supervisors positions it as a premier destination for postgraduate studies—both locally and internationally.
