As a forward-looking institute of higher learning, Quest International University (QIU) takes immense pride in its commitment to creating lasting social impact and doing its part to bring the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to fruition.
In line with this commitment, over the weekend, QIU academics from the Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences (FILS) continued the university’s proud tradition of giving back to the community by co-hosting a well-received digital training workshop for unemployed individuals from the B40 socioeconomic group.
The daylong event, in partnership with Digital Perak, Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK) and Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita, was held at the Hub Inovasi & Multimedia (HiM) in Meru, Ipoh.

Partnering with fellow trainers from PASAK, the FILS lecturers Ms Noor Hafizah Abdul Halim and Ms Mahthavi Jeyandran taught job seekers how to craft and tweak resumes and cover letters using the Microsoft Office suite, specifically the MS Word application.
As a bonus, upon completion of the workshop, participants could submit their newly optimised resumes and cover letters on the spot to a representative of the PASAK for potential job placements.
By upskilling those from underprivileged circumstances, the workshop aimed to further the UN SDGs numbers 1, 4 and 8 — respectively, the end of poverty in all its forms, access to fair and quality education, and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth that upholds the promise of universal human dignity.
Kudos to our academics for once again flying the flag of social justice!
