Medical Research Conference 2018

QIUP’s Faculty of Medicine hosted the Medical Research Conference 2018 for its MBBS year 5 students on 9th April 2018 at Wisma Palaniappa in Taiping, Perak. The aim of this conference was for research papers presentation by 12 groups. The papers were presented to Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Professor Dr. Alam Sher Malik, Deputy Dean (Clinical) of Faculty of Medicine, Professor Lee Mun Seng, Research Administrator,  Associate Professor Dr.  Aman Shah, lecturers and adjunct lecturers and staff members of the Faculty of Medicine.

The judges, Dr. Zarina Thasneem Zainudeen, lecturer from Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Dr. Bedanta Roy, senior lecturer of Physiology from Faculty of Medicine gave positive feedback to the overall presentation and were impressed by the research titles chosen by the students. They also mentioned that it was a tough task to choose a winner as all were equally good.

Finally, Group 9 was announced the winner of the QIUP Medical Research Conference 2018 for impressing the judges with their presentation paper on “Impact of Electronic Devices on the Life of Children”. This was followed by a souvenir presentation to the judges and certificates presentation to students by Professor Dr. Alam Sher Malik, accompanied by Head of Department of Pharmacology, Associate Professor Dr.  Aman Shah. It was also announced that QIUP is proud to sponsor the winning group to present their research paper at the next national or international conference. Furthermore, all students will also be given a chance to publish their research findings in the upcoming Medical Journal by QIUP.
