Engagement

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!

Nearly 100 budding actors and actresses from secondary schools throughout Perak shone on stage during Quest International University Perak (QIU)’s inaugural Lights! Camera! Action! drama workshop and competition.

Organised by the School of English and contemporary theatre collective Theatresauce, the event brought together drama ensembles from nine secondary schools throughout Perak to compete for prizes and bragging rights. Themed ‘Creative Connexions: Drama for All’, the day-long event aimed to introduce students to the exciting world of drama and improvisation. At the same time, it was designed to unearth prospective talents in the world of performing arts, while also giving these students a platform to showcase their skills

VOICES OF CULTURE ROAR IN UNISON

Organised by the University’s Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) students, the fun-filled celebration brought the cultures of the world to our Student Centre, showcasing exotic international cuisine, thrilling cultural performances, and captivating musical acts.

QUICKLE BY QIU TESL STUDENTS

Organising the QUICKLE conference is part of a requirement under a course for final year students. In this course, students are exposed to the entire process of conducting a conference – starting from proposals, budgets, menus, venues, sponsorships, finding keynote speakers, familiarising with protocols and other related interesting requisite elements of organising a conference. The essence of the event is that students are given a platform to present their research project paper prepared during their Research Paper course

ACT IT OUT!

The TESL students of Cohorts 10 and 11 conducted a workshop on drama entitled ACT IT OUT! The main objective of the event is for the workshop participants to develop the basic skills of drama, including use of voice, gestures and facial expressions. The workshop will benefit the participants as they will be introduced to various skills related to drama and performance. The participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a drama competition and display their acting talents.
