About the Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences

Welcome to the Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences

The world is changing constantly, and we see this on a daily basis. Be it advancements in technology, culture, the arts, or sciences. One area of constant and continuous breakthrough are the life sciences. Life sciences is a major branch of science, dedicated to the understanding, protection and improvement of all human, plant, and animal life on the planet.

The ever evolving nature of life sciences pushes the boundaries and frontiers for research and development. This cultivates human resource capacity, capable of seeing the bigger picture, thinking outside the box, and contributing to a sustainable future for humanity.

Advances through basic research will develop over time into applied research, which then creates new understanding across a wide range of disciplines. It is therefore essential to promote a multidisciplinary approach that is not bound by conventional frameworks. This is to ensure that you as today’s students, will be tomorrow’s major players, and will possess a broad knowledge base and flexible skillsets.

The Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences (FILS) is a multi-disciplinary faculty pursuing innovative, emerging research and transformative education in foundational, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for a sustainable future. FILS provides excellent online and in person teaching facilities including well-equipped laboratories. We undertake cutting edge research in diverse fields, including chemistry, biological sciences and environmental technology.

We welcome the energy, enthusiasm and talent that you bring to the class, the laboratory and community at large. We look forward to sharing our scientific knowledge and skills with you. You will acquire the variety of relevant scientific skills, analytical and creative thinking, confident presentation skills as well as innovative problem-solving techniques.
