About the Faculty of Computing and Engineering

The Faculty of Computing and Engineering at QIU is a centre of innovation, technical excellence and forward-looking education. We offer a range of specialised programmes through the School of Computing (SOC) and the School of Engineering (SOE), covering key disciplines such as computing, information technology, engineering and actuarial science. These programmes range from diploma to postgraduate levels and are tailored to address the evolving demands of today’s dynamic, technology-driven landscape.

Modern laboratories, digital infrastructure and a team of experienced faculty members with strong academic and industry backgrounds support our academic offerings. This ensures that students receive a practical, high-quality education that bridges theory with real-world application. Our curriculum evolves with the global technology landscape. Students gain a solid foundation in core principles while engaging with emerging fields, including artificial intelligence, smart systems, data science, and sustainable technology. Hands-on learning, industry projects, and research opportunities are integral to the student experience, preparing graduates to tackle real-world challenges with confidence and competence.

Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. We work closely with industry partners, non-governmental organisations, and local and international universities to provide students with global exposure and relevant professional experiences. We also actively engage with communities through impactful initiatives that promote social responsibility, problem solving and real-world contribution, fostering a sense of civic duty and leadership among our students. We are dedicated to developing skilled, adaptable and socially responsible graduates who are prepared to lead and innovate in an increasingly interconnected and technologically advanced world.

Though distinct in their specialisations, both the School of Computing and the School of Engineering share a unified commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement. Our graduates leave QIU with the knowledge, agility, and values needed to make meaningful contributions across diverse industries, societies, and communities.
