Since its inception in 2019, the championship has brought together aspiring orators from across Malaysia to showcase their skills in speech, persuasion, and critical thinking.
This partnership was formalised during Alagappa University’s on-campus international conference, where Prof. Aznan had the privilege of being the keynote speaker.
Social Science students teamed up with their Business & Management peers to plan and pull off ‘An Afternoon with Harith Iskander’ with great aplomb.
Three academics—Ummu Hani Yahaya, Noor Eleena Nordin, and Nurfarahin Mohamed Ishak—snatched a silver medal at the Virtual Innovation Competition Exhibition (VICE) 2024 organised by Kolej Poly-Tech Mara (KPTM), Bangi.
The first-year student joined participants from five countries, including Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, China and Egypt. He also competed against opponents from institutions like the University of Macau and Universiti Sains Malaysia, highlighting his prowess and performance.

The AR Phonics research project showcases an innovative approach to teaching phonics using Augmented Reality (AR) technology for children with speech delay.
The award-winning creation turned heads for its ability to solve common issues faced by teachers, such as rigid and inflexible teaching materials; a lack of time to prepare materials that align with lessons; and the high cost of purchasing quality teaching resources.
Our team’s winning presentation showcased a research titled “Augmented Reality: Innovative Protection Against Sexual Harassment for Disabled Children”.
