A Fun-filled Day of ‘Ecotainment’ at a Local Park!

Quest International University Perak (QIUP) communication students planned and organised the Me & Earth Day recently at Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz (Polo Ground) Ipoh. This ‘Ecotainment’ event which is comprised of eco education and entertainment attracted Ipohites from all walks of lives. The participants joined the meaningful event which included aneco enzyme showcase, station games, talks, performances, lucky draws and lake purifying activities.

This project was a collaboration between QIUP and Persatuan Kebajikan Lim Hock Chiang which is a Non-Government Organization (NGO) fully owned by Polyware Sdn Bhd. This significant green project was supported by Institute Darul Ridzuan (IDR). The main objective of the event was to create awareness on eco-enzyme and this was delivered to participants through instruction in the ways of producing eco enzyme from fruit peels. Besides this, the lake purifying activity, which consisted of pouring eco enzyme into the lake at the Polo Ground, was very meaningful as it was in line with the Perak state government’s mission to sustain Ipoh as the cleanest city in Malaysia.

The Persatuan Kebajikan Lim Hock Chiang awarded the students with certificates in appreciation of their outstanding marketing communication work. This project is part of the students’ coursework assessment and is in line with the QIUP School of Social Sciences’ direction of engaging students through experiential learning. The project also enhanced the students’ creative and analytical skills. Besides that, it also instills in them an interest in working and contributing to the community.

Stay tune for more enriching projects organised by the QIUP communication students!
