QIU DEVELOPING REGIONAL IR 4.0 TECH CENTRE WITH ELLIANCE

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is changing every aspect of our lives, including the way we conduct business and the jobs we will eventually hold.

As an institution that produces employees of the future, QIU understands the importance of preparing our students for the challenges and requirements of a world shaped by IR 4.0.

To continue staying ahead of the curve, QIU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IR 4.0 consultancy experts Elliance Sdn Bhd today.

The agreement will see QIU and Elliance working together on the development of a regional IR 4.0 expert centre, known as the i4.0 Technology Centre.

The centre will act as a one-stop centre for IR4.0 technologies. The centre aims to provide comprehensive training, consultancy and solutions development to SMIs and SMEs to promote the implementation and adoption of IR4.0 technologies.

In addition to this joint-effort, both parties also agreed to facilitate exchanges of ideas and facilities, including attachment and mutual visits by staff members to pursue research and curriculum development, sharing of laboratory facilities and academic materials, and/or participation in relevant seminars, conferences, workshops.

On hand to sign the deal was QIU Chief Operating Officer Nicholas Goh and Elliance Director Cheng Boon Seng. Also present at the signing was Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Dr Vilasini Pillai and Assoc Prof Dr Lee Lam Hong.

Elliance provides IR 4.0 solutions for local industries, specialising in industrial LAN/CLOUD solutions. With a team well-versed in the field of manufacturing, their expertise is invaluable at different stages of becoming a smart industrial factory.

The University is proud to add Elliance to its list of illustrious partners, and we look forward to a fruitful and successful relationship.
