QI Group delivers aid to Penang flood victims

The QI Group today donated RM100,000 to the Penang State Government to assist flood victims in the state.

The cheque was presented to Penang Chief Minister, YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng by QI Group Directors, Ms. Boey Kho and Mr. Pathman Senathirajah at KOMTAR here. The financial aid is in addition to the RM23,000 delivered to the National Council of Women’s Organisation (NCWO) by QI Group staff and Independent Representatives of QNET last Friday.

“We at the QI Group of Companies deeply commiserate with the hardship faced by Penangites who are putting up with the island’s worst flooding in recent hi story. We are all saddened by the fact that several people lost their lives, and hundreds have had their property damaged by the massive flood which hit many parts of Penang since November 4.

“Our Group’s offices in Asia were galvanised by Executive Chairman, Dato Sri Vijay Eswaran, who hails from Penang, to do their part which everyone willingly and voluntarily endeavored to undertake. This culminated in a group-wide drive, including students and staff of the Group’s University in Ipoh, Quest International University Perak (QIUP).

“Penang has been our home for the last four years where QNET’s annual V-Convention is held amid crowds of enterprising business people from around the globe, drawing 15,000 to 20,000 global citizens. Hence, Penang is very close to our hearts and we hope the state will recover soon from this natural disaster” noted Boey Kho.

Since its inception, philanthropy has been part of QI Group’s way of life. The concept of RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind) is the guiding principle for all that the Group undertakes. Referred to as the corporate heartbeat and under the stewardship of Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran as its Chairperson, RYTHM is the enabler of the Group’s charitable endeavors.

Boey Kho further added “Everyone came forward in a short period of time in the spirit of RYTHM to help the people affected by the flooding. We hope it will assist somewhat in alleviating the hardship of those affected.
