Dean appointed to lead QIUP Faculty of Medicine

Quest International University Perak (QIUP) is pleased to announce the appointment of  Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim Bin Md. Noor as the Dean for Faculty of Medicine effective 18 September 2018.

Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim is known in the medical education community in the country having served in many strategic positions for more than 20 years in both the public and private Universities.

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from University Malaya and a Master of Science in Public Health obtained from Victoria University of Manchester (UK). He has worked in many academic institutions public and private. He has served in the position of Deanship for the last 12 years.

His last assignment prior to joining QIUP was Deputy Vice Chancellor for  Postgraduate & Strategic Development at MAHSA University. Joining MAHSA in 2012, he has held various strategic positions including Dean Faculty of Medicine and  Deputy Vice Chancellor International and Strategic Planning.

He was the Founding Dean, Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences, University Teknologi Mara. He also served as the Chairman of the Founding Committee of Dental Faculty, where he helped develop the Dental programme.

His professional memberships include the Malaysian Medical Council, Malaysian Medical Association, General British Medical Council, Public Health Specialist Association Malaysia and others.

As Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at QIUP with his vast experience, Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim has a strong vision for the future of the Faculty and will work to bring the faculty to the next level of excellence as proven with his track record of successful leadership.

QIUP congratulates Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim on his appointment  and looks forward to working with him in the coming years as he undertakes this key new leadership role  to support the growth and success of Medicine at Quest International University Perak.

*4. The University Management has decided to grant extra leave for certain festivals that fall at the beginning or end of the week. For this semester, Monday 15 Sept is the extra holiday.  Therefore, replacement classes must be conducted on the dates provided by the Registrar’s Office
