COVID-19 UPDATE

QIU’s campus is located in Ipoh, the capital city of the state of Perak in Malaysia. The University’s Faculty of Medicine also has an office in the town of Taiping.

Malaysia has entered the “Transition to Endemic” phase. With that in mind, the University will be starting classes in hybrid mode for all Foundation, Diploma, and Bachelor’s Degree students—except those from the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) and MBBS programmes. This will commence from the April 2022 semester.

Hybrid learning is a blend of online and face-to-face classes. Students will alternate between attending online and face-to-face classes according to their respective Academic Calendar and timetable.

QIU will continue practising the guidelines that have been put in place since the start of the pandemic. All students coming to the campus must adhere to the following rules:

  • Students must wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth, at all times while on Campus (except during mealtime).
  • Students should maintain physical distancing.
  • If a student tests positive for COVID-19 or is a Close Contact, they must NOT return to campus. Instead, they should inform their Programme Coordinator or Head of Programme promptly. The University will immediately advise the student on the next course of action, in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
