QIU Continues Successful Run At MTE As 7 Inventors Win Medals

Every year, we get hyped when the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) comes along because our academics and students get to show the world their incredibly innovative inventions. It’s their time to shine.

As expected, they did us proud once again as all seven of our participants walked away with medals at the MTE 2021’s International Innovation Awards.

It’s the second time that we notched up a 100 per cent medal record, as all nine of our entries won awards at last year’s event. And not to forget, we also won 18 awards at MTE 2019

Our QIU talents, who came from the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Pharmacy, had to face stiff competition from nearly 500 entrants.

As usual, this included universities from Malaysia and beyond—including as far as Taiwan, Thailand, and Iran—government agencies, and innovation networks.

We’re sure you want to see the list of winners and their winning inventions, so here you go!

This year, the COVID-19 pandemic made the competition more challenging, as the inventors had to submit video presentations instead of the usual face-to-face method. Of course, you can check out the videos here on our special MTE 2021 YouTube playlist!

Once again, our talents are showing that when you join QIU, you become part of our winning tradition.  We’re proving that we can be the vehicle for you to showcase your brilliance to the world.

Congratulations again to our winners! We’re so proud of you!
