by Daniel Fadzlan Bin Abdullah

Students from Quest International University (QIU) brought smiles and joy to the children of Rumah Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah in Chemor, Ipoh, during the Orphanage Fun Meet 2024.

Organised by the QIU Muslim Society Club in collaboration with MyFundaction, the event aimed to offer support and companionship to the children, providing a day filled with engaging activities and meaningful interactions. The initiative highlighted the importance of community service and the impact of spending quality time with those in need.

The day began with the students’ departure to the orphanage, followed by a warm welcome and ice-breaking sessions. The morning was dedicated to educational activities where QIU students taught the children life skills such as tidying their environment and participating in creative activities.

Sports and games, including Poison Ball and traditional games, fostered teamwork and camaraderie among the participants. These activities were designed to create a fun and interactive environment, allowing the children to engage in physical activities while building strong bonds with the visiting students. The event also included a lunch session, where students and children shared a meal, strengthening their connection. The day concluded with a photo session and award ceremony, celebrating the children’s participation and achievements.

Event Impact:

The Orphanage Fun Meet 2024 left a profound emotional impact on both the children and QIU students. The event provided the children with a sense of belonging and emotional support, enhancing their self-esteem and confidence through the various activities. The emotional support provided by the students through their interactions and companionship offered the children a much-needed sense of connection and comfort. The smiles, laughter, and joy shared throughout the day created lasting memories that the children will cherish.

The event was a profound learning experience for the QIU students, highlighting the importance of community service and empathy. It allowed them to connect with the children on a personal level, understanding their lives and challenges. This interaction fostered a deeper sense of responsibility and compassion among the students, reinforcing the values of giving back to the community and supporting those in need.
