Programme Level

The Foundation in Science (FIS) programme is a three- semester programme tailored to equip students with the quality pre-University education, knowledge and skills they need to excel in future undergraduate programmes. In addition to core courses like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology, they will also develop life skills through subjects like Critical Thinking, Interpersonal Communication and Frontier Studies which will make them more adaptable, confident and team-oriented.

The students’ progress is monitored through regular assessments and our academic staff are always at hand to guide them through the transition to degree-level programmes. QIU’s FIS programme provides quality Pre-University education with a broad and balanced curriculum that prepares students to meet the requirements and qualifications of undergraduate programmes.

Upon successful completion of the Foundation programme, students are eligible for entry into the various programmes of their interest at QIU:

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE (PEO)

To provide quality Pre-University education with a broad and balanced curriculum that prepare students to meet the qualifications and requirements of undergraduate programmes

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / IGCSE (O-Level)Pass with minimum FIVE (5) credits in Mathematics, TWO (2) Science subjects and TWO (2) other subjects.
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)Pass UEC with minimum Grade B in THREE (3) subjects including Mathematics and TWO (2) other Science subjects.
MBBS / Pharmacy
SPM / O-LevelPass with minimum Grade B in FIVE (5) subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics / Additional Mathematics and ONE (1) other subject.
UECPass UEC with minimum Grade B4 in THREE (3) subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
Engineering
SPM / O-LevelPass with minimum credit in FIVE (5) subjects including Mathematics, Physics and THREE (3) other subjects.
UECPass UEC with minimum Grade B in THREE (3) subjects including Mathematics, Physics and ONE (1) other subject.
Allied Health
SPM / O-LevelPass with minimum FIVE (5) credits, subjects include Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and ONE (1) other subject.
UECPass UEC with minimum Grade B in THREE (3) subjects including Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
