The MBBS programme at QIU follows an Integrated Hybrid Problem-Based Learning Curriculum. The 5-year MBBS curriculum consists of two continuous phases: Phase I (Years 1 & 2) and Phase II (Years 3 to 5). In Phase I, the emphasis is on integrated basic sciences with early clinical exposure, while Phase II focuses on the clinical sciences integrated with the applied aspects of basic and laboratory sciences.

A. Higher School Certificate Level or its equivalent

i. Pass STPM with Grades BBB, ABC or AAC or CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in 3 subjects i.e.

  • Biology; and
  • Chemistry; and
  • Physics or Mathematics

OR

ii. Pass A-Levels with Grades BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 subjects i.e.

  • Biology; and
  • Chemistry; and
  • Physics or Mathematics

OR

iii. Pass UEC with B4 in 5 subjects :

  • Biology; and
  • Chemistry; and
  • Physics; and
  • Advanced Mathematics I /Mathematics; and
  • Advanced Mathematics II/Advanced Mathematics

B. Matriculation, Foundation or Pre – Medical Programme or its equivalent.

iii. Pass Foundation / Matriculation in Science OR Pre-Medical programme with CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in 3 subjects i.e.

  • Biology; and
  • Chemistry; and
  • Physics or Mathematics

Minimum grade for each subject is C (GP 2.0)

AND

Provided the course is not less than 1 year in the same institution

AND

Pass SPM/ O Level or its equivalent with 5 Bs each in

  • Biology; and
  • Chemistry; and
  • Physics; and
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics; and
  • another subject

OR

iv. Pass UEC with a minimum grade of B4 each in 3 subjects :

  • Biology; and
  • Chemistry; and
  • Physics or Mathematics /Advanced Mathematics I or Advanced Mathematics/Advanced Mathematics II

C. Diploma Level

v. Pass Diploma in Health Sciences or equivalent with CGPA: 3.50 (out of 4)

AND

provided the programme is not less than 5 semesters OR 2 1/2 year in the same institution

AND

At SPM / O Level or its equivalent:

Minimum 2Bs in any 2 subjects

  • Biology; and/ or
  • Chemistry; and/ or
  • Physics

AND

Credit in 3 subjects

  • English ; and
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics ;and
  • another subject

OR

D. Bachelor’s Degree Level

vi. Pass Degree in Health OR Pure OR Applied Sciences with CGPA: 3.00 (out of 4) for entry to 5-year medical programme

OR

vii. Pass Degree in the Arts or Humanities with CGPA: 3.50 (out of 4) for entry to 5-year medical programme

OR

xi. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia

English Requirement for International students:

IELTS 5.0/ MUET Band 3.5 or its equivalent
