Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor Of Surgery (MBBS)

The MBBS programme at QIU follows an Integrated Hybrid Problem-Based Learning Curriculum. The 5-year MBBS curriculum consists of two continuous phases: Phase I (Years 1 & 2) and Phase II (Years 3 to 5). In Phase I, the emphasis is on integrated basic sciences with early clinical exposure, while Phase II focuses on the clinical sciences integrated with the applied aspects of basic and laboratory sciences.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE CURRICULUM:

  • The curriculum and assessment is aligned with the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) which enables the graduates to specialise in a relatively shorter duration.

Upon completing this programme, graduates would have acquired the essential knowledge, competencies and professional attitude to become a standout primary healthcare provider. Having gained lifelong learning skills, they would also have the motivation and training to conduct research and move towards postgraduate training in their respective fields of interest.

Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia

(STPM) / General Certificate Of Education Advanced (“A”) levels

Grades BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 Subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
Matriculation or Foundation in Science or Pre-Medical course 

CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) in 3 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, provided the course is not less than 1 year in the same accredited institution

 

And

 

the minimum entry qualification is grade B each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject at School Certificate level or its equivalent

 

Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)

 

B4 each in 5 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics

Diploma in Health Sciences 

CGPA 3.5 (out of 4), provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 21⁄2 years in the same accredited institution

 

And 

 

the minimum entry qualification is 2 Bs each in Biology and/or Chemistry and/or Physics and 3 credits each in English and Mathematics or Additional Mathematics and another subject at School Certificate level or its equivalent.

Degree in Health or Pure or

Applied Sciences

CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) for 5-year undergraduate medical programme
Degree in the Arts or HumanitiesCGPA 3.5 (out of 4) for 5-year undergraduate medical programme
Other Qualifications 

Examination or any other foundation programme in the sciences. Approved by MOHE.
