Associate Professor Erika Watanabe from the National Institute of Technology, Fukushima College spoke on Entering the ‘Real World’ and becoming a ‘Real Adult’. With 17 years of experience in teaching and two years specifically in business communication, Erika coached the audience on assessing one’s personality and on finding the right job(s) to match it. She also emphasised the value of engaging in extracurricular activities in the university and illustrated examples of good resume writing and job interviews. These are important elements for those transitioning from a university student to a young professional.
Erika’s work is driven by a passion to empower students for positive societal change so that they can proactively shape the world they want to live in.
