Mr Chandra Bose,
Regional Manager of Biosensors Interventional Technologies. November 2016
The topic was ‘People and Performance: Insights from the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry’, and the speaker was an expert with 24 years of experience across eight multinational corporations (MNCs). Some of his notable achievements include winning the General Manager’s and the Franchise Manager of the Year Awards, successfully leading new product launches, engineering a business turnaround and setting up new business operations in Malaysia.
Mr Bose addressed a full house and had the rapt attention of the audience. This was primarily due to his down-to-earth demeanour and his willingness to impart his knowledge and experience. He also punctuated his talk with several real life stories to illustrate his views, giving students an insight into the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry and the nature of work and challenges of managing people therein. A tidbits session was held after the talk where undergraduates were given the chance to interact with Mr Bose more closely. Mr Bose also spoke with our MBA candidates, and his candour paved the way for an engaging and interactive 3-hour session.
