Summary
The Environmental Remediation Research Group focuses on managing environmental systems and improving environmental quality. The research area focus on the fate and behaviour of emerging contaminants, human impact on the environment, human exposure to environmental contaminants and their health effects, and environmental remediation and management. Besides, the group also focuses on isolating bacteria that are capable of degrading plastics, particularly LDPE. The major research activities focus on molecular identification of genes involved in plastic degradation and accessing the ability of different bacteria isolates in degrading LDPE plastics.
Research Activity
- Microplastics detection and remediation
- Eco-bricks
Biological & chemical assisted remediation - Biosurfactants
