Dr Ranjit is an experienced educator with over 40 years of
experience across various educational institutions. He has
held leadership roles, including Associate Professor at the
University of Nottingham Malaysia and Director at the
Ministry of Education's English Language Teaching
Centre. He has also contributed to education policy,
having led the Government Transformation Program 2.0
English Language Lab and served on the English Language
Standards and Quality Council. Initiatives from the
Education Lab were incorporated into the Malaysia
Education Blueprint 2013-2025. Dr Ranjit also has
extensive experience in school transformation, having
worked as General Manager at LeapEd Services, which
implements the Trust School Transformation Programme
in 110 schools under the Ministry of Education. His
research experience includes supervising MA students
and teaching research methods courses. He has
presented at international conferences

  • Headed the English Language Lab of the Government Transformation Programme (GTP 2.0) in 2012. The Lab conceptualized and developed transformative English language initiatives that were incorporated into the Malaysia Education Blueprint, 2013-2025
  • Member of the MoE’s English Language Standards and Quality Council, 2018 – 2020
  • Executive Secretary to the MoE’s English Language Standards and Quality Council, 2012 – 2015
  • Contributed to the development of the Roadmap for English Language Education in Malaysia, 2015 – 2025
  • Head of Secretariat of the MoE’s Working Committee for English Language Initiatives, 2012 – 2015
  • MoE Representative to the Governing Board of the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre, Singapore, 2011 – 2015
