Micro-credential in Health, Nutrition, and Safety in Special Needs Education

This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to establish and maintain healthy and safe environments for individuals with special needs.

  1. Explain the importance of health and nutrition in children’s development and learning
  2. Formulate strategies to promote health, nutrition and safety education
  3. Construct appropriate teaching-learning materials for young children in the areas of health, nutrition, and safety

Target Audience:

Professionals working in fields related to special needs education, psychologists, social workers, counsellors, parents, caregivers, nurses, nutritionists, dieticians and occupational therapists.

Entry Requirements:

There is no entry qualification if the applicant enrols in the course for upskilling purposes or to upgrade knowledge or expertise and does not intend to continue with the Bachelor of Special Needs Education (Honours).

If the applicant enrols in the course with the objective of obtaining the Bachelor of Special Needs Education (Honours) qualification, he/she must fulfil the following entry qualifications:

  1. Matriculation / Pre-University / Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) programme or equivalent- Full passes in two (2) subjects with a minimum CGPA 2.00
  2. Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)- Pass with Jayyid level
  3. Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)- Pass with at least grade B in five (5) subjects
  4. A-Levels- Pass with two (2) full passes subjects
  5. Recognised Diploma in a related field- Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
  6. Other Qualifications- Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government
