This course introduces participants to the integration of computers and its tools into the TESL classroom. It investigates the history, roles and different models of Computer-Assisted Language Learning and their relevance in the 21st century.

  1. Compare research articles on interactive instructional technologies in language teaching and learning
  2. Evaluate computer aided learning skills in English language courses
  3. Adapt the usage of current computer applications in English language teaching and learning
  4. Create teaching materials using CALL

Target Audience:

Postgraduate Candidates, Educator from other Institutions and Public

Entry Requirements:

There is no entry qualification if the applicant enrols in the course for upskilling purposes or to upgrade knowledge or expertise and does not intend to continue with the Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language.

If the applicant enrols in the course with the objective of obtaining the Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language qualification, he/she must fulfil the following entry qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in the field or related fields with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the Higher Education Provider (HEP) Senate; or
  2. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 MQF) in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment;
  3. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (I) and (II).
