QIU INTERVARSITY SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM 2019 (QISS 2019)
The QIU Intervarsity Science Symposium 2019 (QISS 2019), jointly organised by Quest International University Perak (QIU) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), was held on 13 and 14 November 2019 in Ipoh, Perak. Following the success of the UTAR Intervarsity Science Symposium (UISS) in both 2016 and 2018, the baton was passed down to QIU for organising the symposium.
The symposium was officiated by Mr. Nicholas Goh, Chief Executive Officer of Global Integrated Training Associates and Chief Operating Officer of Quest International University Perak. With themed “Science and Technology: Building Insights, Breaking Boundaries”, the symposium attracted more than 100 participants in the life sciences, environmental, engineering, and computer science tracks from both local and international institutions, public and private. The symposium adopted an environmental-friendly approach by going paperless for the entire event to adhere to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The PechaKucha style of presentation was also introduced to encourage participants to present their research findings more succinctly and creatively.
All PechaKucha sessions consisted of a panel of three judges as well as a moderator and timekeeper. Every presenter was given a total of 15 minutes of presentation time, inclusive of the question and answer session. Judging for the poster session was held on Day 1 of the symposium.
The following table lists the winners of all symposium tracks:
