QIU INTERVARSITY SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM 2022(QISS 2022)
The QIU Intervarsity Science Symposium 2022 (QISS 2022), jointly organised by Quest International University Perak (QIU) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), was held on 23 and 24 July 2022 in Ipoh, Perak. The QIU Intervarsity Science Symposium (QISS 2022) had attracted more than 130 researchers from local and international universities to share and discuss fascinating ideas and advancements in the fields of Science and Technology.
Officiated by Professor Zita Mohd Fahmi, Vice Chancellor of QIU, this annual event was jointly organized by by the Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences and Faculty of Computing and Engineering, Quest International University (QIU) and Centre for Agriculture and Food Research, Faculty of Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). QISS 2022 saw the participation of several prestigious universities and institute including Taylor’s University Malaysia, Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), SAGE University Bhopal, India and SAGE University Indore, India as organizing partners.
With the theme ‘The Science of Today for the Technology of a Sustainable Tomorrow, we were pleased to have seven eminent keynote and invited speakers to discuss the latest trends, advancements and breakthroughs in the fields of life sciences, environmental technology, engineering, computing and mathematics. Their sharing would definitely have been a source of inspiration for all budding scientists and academics.
We believe that the future depends on young scientists and this symposium served as a pivotal event to further bolster their interest in research. During the course of the two-day event, postgraduate and undergraduate students were given the opportunity to present their research findings through oral presentations that were judged by a panel of seasoned researchers. The interactive question-and-answer session definitely enhanced the understanding of the presenters and kept the audiences thoroughly engaged. Three winners were then selected from each track judged by a list of comprehensive criteria.
Once again, QIU students continued to bring in accolades for the university by becoming the champion in all the four oral presentation categories! Hats off to all our future scientists. This is an excellent performance by the QIU team where they competed against 47 presenters from universities and institutes such as UTAR, Taylors, UPM, USM, and INFORMM. This achievement is a testament of the university’s commitment to producing holistic graduates who excel not only in academics but also in competitions. Heartiest congratulations to all the winners.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the sponsors: SNS network (M) Sdn Bhd, WCE Holding Gaia Science (M) Sdn Bhd and Simplify Networks Sdn Bhd for their generous contributions.
