The Hermeneutic method using a qualitative methodology was used to interpret the interview transcripts of respondents to obtain their views on the themes and values of the Tamil novel in this study. The findings of the study show that both respondents have given social values that can be identified based on their understanding. Among the values are leadership, affection and love, perseverance, strong identity, giving awareness to teenagers, reading attitude, friendship, courage, belief in customs and religion, concern, love for the Tamil language and priority in the field of education. The values that have been identified can be linked to social issues such as education, economics and social issues experienced by the Indian community which are also featured in this novel. This allows for a more thorough interpretation of the intentions and values of the novel, as well as showing the novel's potential as a valuable tool for self-growth and social change in Indian society.
