Copyright
Intellectual property aims to protect the intangible creation of human intellect and copyright is a type of intellectual property. The copyright permits the owner of original creative work, in the form of literacy, artistic, educational or musical, to decide if and how his or her work may be used by others. While the exact duration of a copyright of work varies between countries, the literacy work including the academic article is generally subject to the life of a creator.
Copyright at JSSB
After the peer-review process and if accepted to be published in JSSB, the corresponding author will receive the Author Copyright Agreement. The corresponding author is responsible for correcting page proofs and working with the production editor. The first author must sign the copyright agreement form. In signing this agreement, you would have agreed to transfer the copyright to us as the owner and publisher of the JSSB.
Assigning the copyright also means that the editorial team of JSSB acts as stewards of your academic work as it appears in the scholarly record whereas you, as the original creator of the work, retain the right to be credited as the author(s) of the article. The Editor of JSSB is empowered to make necessary, non-substantive, editorial changes to make the article suitable for publication. This is to ensure your work is made available to the wider academic community.
