The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has opened the Public-Private Research Grant Network 2.0 (PPRN 2.0) grant for cycle 2/2024. PPRN 2.0 is an initiative of MOHE to foster strategic cooperation between industry and academia, with the support of the Ministry and other government agencies, to increase productivity and strengthen economic growth through matching grants for innovative projects that are demand-driven and have commercial potential.
Scope:
1) Product Innovation: to improve or add value to existing products, especially industry-based technology or towards certification.
2) Process Innovation: to improve the production process products, source components; warehouse; logistics; method of delivery or services to coordinate as well as make it more efficient and effective in line with the development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (The Fourth Industrial Revolution – IR 4.0).
Grant submission details are as follows:
Date of opening: 13th May 2024
Submission to CRI (via the system): 31 May 2024
Proposal Evaluation and Amendments: 1-13 June 2024
Submission to MOHE: 14th June 2024
Application to be submitted online through: https://epprn.mohe.gov.my/
Projects that will not be considered by PPRN:
1) Off-the-shelf solutions or technology solutions that already exist in the market
2) Involve marketing or business management
3) Projects that are fundamental or exploratory
4) Projects in the clinical trials stage
5) Consultancy projects
6) Projects involve application and payment for obtaining certificates such as Halal, ISO and others
7) Projects that need to travel abroad
8) Projects that need to purchase facilities and assets as a solution
