The Malaysian University English Test (MUET) assesses candidates’ English language proficiency in order to help universities make the right decisions about prospective students’ preparation for academic coursework, as well as their ability to use and understand English in a variety of contexts in the higher education setting.

MUET assesses candidates’ level of proficiency using aggregated ratings ranging from 1 to 360, which equate to Bands 1 to 5+, and measures all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Candidates who complete the four parts of the exam will receive a certificate of completion.
